Meet the Captain Zach Rowe
Capt. Zach Rowe, owner and lead guide of Southern Charters, grew up with a fishing rod in his hands and saltwater in his veins. His passion for fishing began at just five years old, learning the waters alongside his father along the Gulf Coast. Those early days sparked a lifelong connection to the water, shaping him into a dedicated Gulf Shores fishing guide who now shares that same passion with every guest who steps aboard.
With years of hands-on experience running trips for other charter operations before launching Southern Charters, Capt. Zach has built a strong reputation for safety, consistency, and results-driven fishing in Gulf Shores, AL. Fully licensed and focused on responsible guiding practices, he prioritizes guest safety while delivering productive trips across Mobile Bay and surrounding Gulf waters. His local knowledge of tides, seasonal fish movement, and structure makes him one of the most dependable guides for both inshore fishing and light offshore trips in the region.
Beyond the water, Capt. Zach is known for his patient teaching style and commitment to creating family-friendly fishing charters in Gulf Shores, Alabama. He enjoys introducing kids and beginners to fishing, ensuring every guest feels confident and involved. His approach goes beyond just catching fish—it’s about creating a positive, educational, and memorable experience that keeps guests coming back year after year.
Guests fish aboard a 24’ Ranger center console powered by a 275HP Mercury Verado engine, built for both speed and comfort on Gulf waters. Equipped with GPS, fish finder, livewell, and ample space for up to six passengers, the boat provides a smooth and efficient ride to productive fishing grounds. Whether targeting inshore species or exploring deeper Gulf waters, Capt. Zach ensures every trip on Southern Charters is safe, comfortable, and focused on giving anglers the best possible day on the water.
